Overnight in Labrador
So, we parked our rigs at a primitive RV park on the northern shore of Newfoundland at St Barbe, and hopped the ferry (about a 90 minute ride) across the strait to Blanc Sablon, Quebec, then bussed up the coast to Labrador. Here's a link to a map: Labrador Ferry This was our first night outside of our RV since June 2, so it was a treat to have a tub, big bathroom, etc. We took a bus tour the next day of the coast, including seeing the Pinware River, where Bush Sr. and Reagan both fished for salmon. Also saw a cool granite lighthouse with 6' thick walls and a fresnel lens that has been in use for over 100 years. Minke whales right along the shore. Inukshuk, stone landmarks used by the aborigines, are a popular lawn ornament. As we left Quebec and drove into L'Anse-au-Loup, Labrador. Our bus driver asked if he should stop so we could take a picture in front of the Labrador sign... The weasel was living under the wooden front step of the lighthouse.
