Which way to the Witches?

OK, better internet connection tonite, so I can bring along some pictures from the past few days. I'll post more pix tomorrow. Today, we are in Salem, MA, and went to two Salem witch trial sites. Kinda fun. Also lots of Wiccans here, so I bought a book on Wicca. Maybe I'll convert. LOL. Boston tomorrow. Got all the scoobie on places to go from a National Park Ranger who knows. Will be taking the train, then the subway, and walking the Freedom Trail. See http://thefreedomtrail.org/ for the details. Gorgeous evening, sitting by the RV overlooking the bay and drinkin' a glass of wine...

Cape Cod, or, Lighthouse, Lighthouse, where is the Lighthouse?

So, we didn't do Boston today as planned, due to the weather. I'm gonna be skimpy on the pictures, 'cause our Verizon MiFi isn't getting much bandwidth here. Deal with it. Started with a cool front going thru on Tuesday and temps dropping down to low 60's at nite, with rain playing rat-a-tat on the roof of the RV. Great sleeping weather. Wed AM dawned grey and misty, and drizzled all day. We didn't let it cramp our style. Headed down MA 25 and 28 from Middleboro and drove the length of Cape Cod, all the way to Race Point. Stopped at Yarmouth House in West Yarmouth. Nancy had a great Lobster salad sandwich, and I had Haddock baked with panko crumbs, tomato, and cheese. We had a guide book of lighthouses on the Cape, and found about 6 or 8. Lovely cottages and homes along the way, mostly Cape Cod style. Surprise. Got home around 7, had an adult beverage, and lounged.

Hit 5 states again today, two days back-to-back! Woohoo! Started in NJ, then NY, CT, RI, and MA. Camping tonite at KOA in Middleboro. Nice.

Note to self: Check route for tunnels before starting out in RV. Not allowed towing or with propane tanks in tunnels.

Second note to self: Don't go off on the wife because she can't read a map of NY/NJ and find out how to get thru all the construction to get to the George Washington Bridge. Just pull over, take a deep breath, and figure it out.

Third note to self: Next time you take a coach/car to the East Coast, sign up for an EZ Pass for the tolls first. Saves money and time.

Hey, here's a bitch: Car crossing the G.W.Bridge pay a toll of $12. Trucks (with 2 axles) start at $12. A motorhome with 2 axles, towing, costs $52. How is that fair? Towing means less space on the highway, one transaction at the booth instead of two, less fuel burnt, and more than double the cost????

Tomorrow? Trolley tour of Boston. We'll be here 3 days, probably drive to Plymouth Rock, Cape Cod, and whatever else we can come up with.

Liberty Harbor Marina and RV Campground

We said goodbye to Washington DC and to the Virginia area. So much to see, we could come back and spend a month. Traveling north and east, we visited 5 states in one day! That sounds almost impossible for someone used to the Mid-west or the West, where they have counties that are as big as New England States... We started in VA, passed thru MD, DE, NY, and ended up in Jersey City, NJ. Check our our campground! Only $80 a nite, and look at the huge sites! Not. But, had a great laundromat with new Maytag front loading washers and dryers, so we did laundry. Had to... Nancy stepped in doggie do-do and tracked it into the coach yesterday... had to drive all the way to NJ with Febreeze can in hand to mask the poop odor. Ugh. Washed all the carpets...

This post is a collection of pictures taken this week, some daytime, some night, to give you a glimpse of the things we have enjoyed this week. Tomorrow, we move on, through Delaware to New Jersey. More adventures ahead!

Visiting the Smithsonian

OK, so I told you we'd visited the Museum of Natural History. Well, yeah, but THOSE pictures were from the Museum of American History. THESE pictures are from the Museum of Natural History. Glad we got that straight. In no particular order.

Todd's Surprise

Todd had a super surprise for us, we never realized how much "juice" he has at the Pentagon! I got the conventional greeting, but Nancy looks a little surprised at the reception!
